Year Of The Locust – EP Review

Release Date: 1 March 2019
By Kenny Lenehan

New Yorkers Year of The Locust have released their latest effort a four-track self-titled E.P on 01 March 2019 released Independently.  The band have toured extensively building their fan base the old-fashioned way by taking their live show on the road relentlessly.

‘Line Em Up’ opens the EP with its southern sprinkled guitar sound and groove.  I like it and it reminds me of Zakk Wylde meets Blackstone Cherry but with its own flare.

‘Sorry’ also has a throwback sound reminding me of early 00’s rock and metal which is humbling.

‘Stay Alive’, arguably the lightest track on the EP, still has a powerful vibe as well as being the lead single.

I was easily converted by some killer guitar riffs and great song writing that has its own breed of hard rock without being dated.
