Review and Photos by Stephen Mirsik

This past weekend, I was invited to attend August Burns Red 10 Years of Constellations Tour at Starland Ballroom. They brought amazing support acts with them including Silverstein and Silent Planet. The parking lot was full, and the line of fans was wrapped around the building. Once inside the venue everyone ran straight to merch and the ballroom to stake out their spot on the barricade.

Irish pop vocal group Boyzone hit Tokyo on Tuesday night. This was their first concert in Japan, and it would be the last.  Unfortunately, they’ve already announced that they would split the band at the end of this year. So, they came here during their ‘Thank You & Goodnight World Tour’ to say farewell directly to their Japanese fans.

Taking Back Sunday, W/ The Frights, Geoff Rickly Manchester Academy 19 June 2019

Emo was often overlooked as a genre in terms of its acclaim when it was at its peak. In a similar way to Grunge, though, there’s a kind of “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone” feeling surrounding it nowadays. It’s definitely looked upon fondly through heavily rose-tinted lenses, and this retrospective Taking Back Sunday 20th anniversary tour is a testament to that – a celebration.

The night began with many people within the queue discussing the venue change as well as the confusion between the different lines, as a bingo night was on too.  When we were finally able to get into the venue it hardly filled up and just seemed as though it wouldn’t fill up until the headliners Taking Back Sunday were set to play.

Nita Strauss – Ardmore Music Hall 6 June 2019

By Mike

Nita Strauss (aka Hurricane Nita) stormed into the Ardmore Music Hall on June 6, 2019 just like a Hurricane.  She is out on the road supporting her debut album Controlled Chaos and from the minute she hit the stage she was non-stop with shredding licks and head bobbing music. The set list included songs from her new album and a couple of covers of Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper.

New Found Glory – From The Screen To Your Stereo Tour 8 June 2019 Starland Ballroom – Sayreville, NJ USA

Review and photos by Stephen Mirsik

With New Found Glory’s recent release of ‘From The Screen To Your Stereo 3’, it was only natural to then take it from the stereo to the stage! With a killer lineup of supporting bands including Doll Skin, The Early November, and Real Friends, this is certainly a tour that you won’t want to miss. When I arrived at Starland Ballroom, the line of eager fans were already beginning to wrap around the building. Once the doors opened, everyone rushed to the stage to get the best possible view of their pop-punk heroes.

Providing relaxing beats and soul to the voice of their sound, Lacuna J started their proceedings to their large Mancunian crowd. With light-hearted humour along with their songs such as ‘Apricot’, ‘Taurus’ and ‘No Booze No Stars’, the quartet gave the audience the opportunity to admire the electronically jazz sounds marking the basis of the night.
