P.U.T – We Are (Br)others (Cursed Monk Records)

Released: 20 April 2019
By Kenny Lenehan

French Industrial experimental noise trio of brothers P.U.T, released ‘We are (Br)others’, their sixth LP on 20 April 2019.  They describe their sound as “Sludge Noise Industrial” 2018’s “20 Years Rare Tracks Compilation” also features alternative artwork “21 years Of Sludge Noise Industrial”.  Sounds pretty interesting check out my thoughts below.

‘In control’ has an interesting vibe with its experimental distorted jabs of guitar and the lyrics “I have control…. I Control”.. haunting the intro that has a lasting effect along with eerie sounding bells, eventually building up to a totally different feel that took me by surprise at 3:15.  By this point that track has won me over with its full, wholesome sound.

‘Possessed’ certainly has the right title with its eclectic rhythm and octave guitars, reminding me of “Iowa” era “Slipknot” but with its own dark twist.

‘Oppressed’ features a distorted bass line that accompanies the more electronic feel of this track with vocals taking a backseat.

Some interesting moments throughout with each track having its own sound, vibe and twist that brings something different to the table each time.  A strong album that displays the bands chemistry and longevity.

Personal Favourites Include – ‘Pain’, ‘In Conflict’ and ‘Angry’.
